Career visibility, and what happens if the company is sold

What changed

  1. We split one promise into two clearer ones. The old sentence said we would never share your data with employers, recruiters, staffing agencies, health systems, insurers or data brokers. The new sentences say: we never sell your personal financial information and never use it for marketing without your permission; and you control whether a recruiter or employer can contact you — off unless you turn it on, off again the moment you say so.
  2. We added a career visibility setting under Settings. It is off for every account, including yours, and nothing changes unless you change it. Nobody can see it yet. When that changes, you will hear it from us first.
  3. We wrote down what happens if Attending Financial is ever sold, merged, or winds down: any successor is bound by these terms as they stand on that day; you get at least 30 days’ notice; you can export and delete before then, and a deleted account is not transferred; bank connections are severed at transfer.
  4. Two corrections while we were in the text: the privacy policy named the wrong email vendor (it is Resend), and the data-use page now names the two smaller aggregate floors that already existed (the verified offer board and program-director cohort totals, both at 5) beside the 30-physician floor that governs every compensation figure. The market view and the public compensation API were raised to that same floor, and they now count NPI-verified contributions only.

What did not change

No ads. No commissions. No referral fees. No financial-product sales. No data brokers. Your compensation and contract contributions are never given to an employer or recruiter, in any form, and are never part of career visibility. Nothing you contributed under an earlier consent is re-governed by this one.

Why

We are writing this while the member list is small and every one of you can read it. A promise that quietly forbids the company from ever changing hands is a promise about the company, not about you. The promise that matters is that your data is never sold, never marketed with, and never reaches a recruiter unless you decide it should — and that a successor inherits those obligations, not a loophole.
